Join our team Supervision, Public & Regulatory Affairs ING Netherlands and play an important role in building effective relationships with our societal stakeholders.

As part of the Supervision, Public & Regulatory Affairs NL team (Su PRA NL), you’ll be dedicated to build and maintain effective relationships with government, supervisors and special interest groups and advise senior management and other relevant internal stakeholders on supervision, public and regulatory affairs.

For ING NL these relationships are key to realise its commercial and sustainable ambitions. Vice versa, these societal stakeholders expect ING NL to deliver on its promises and be clear and transparent on its direction.

The team
Su PRA NL is a team of six colleagues. We are part of the CEO domain of ING Netherlands. Su PRA NL works closely with Su PRA Group, to ensure alignment and consistency between Group level (responsible for all 40 countries ING operates in) and local level (responsible for The Netherlands, home market of ING).

Roles and responsibilities
As Advisor External Relations you will be responsible for:

• Pursuing ING NL’s strategic advocacy goals, through:
  

  • Monitoring developments in the societal stakeholder field
  • Stakeholder engagement (e.g., meetings, network events)
  • Drafting presentations and position papers
• Advising internal stakeholders – especially senior management – on:
  

  • Supervisory trajectories and interactions, including reporting
  • Developments in the societal stakeholder field: relevant opportunities and risks
  • Business decisions that impact our key societal stakeholders and/or reputation

How to succeed
The following skills and experience will be needed to succeed in this role:

• Understanding our stakeholder field: preferably through having worked with or for government, supervisors or special interest groups
  
• Understanding our business: thorough understanding of banking
  
• Strategic mindset: seeing ahead to future possibilities and risks and translating these into a structured plan
  
• Impact focused: prioritizing activities to optimize impact for ING NL
  
• Managing stakeholders: anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders
  
• Speak up: daring to challenge opinions and decisions of internal stakeholders including senior management
  
• Building trust: gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
  
• Skilled in using Microsoft Power Point to present your message in a convincing and representative manner
  
• Excellent language skills in Dutch and English (speech and writing)
  
• Master’s degree and more than 3 years work experience since graduation
