We are currently recruiting for an application development scientist with material and polymer experience to advance the designed enzymatic biomaterial (DEB) platform technology. In this role you will be based at our IFF Leiden site, The Netherlands. Our Leiden site is a dynamic and globally diverse hub, comprising 180 colleagues representing 29 nationalities. Our colleagues work across R&D, Application Development, and Commercial functions for our Health & Bioscience business, along with corporate staff.

• Academic degree (MSc or Ph D) in a relevant bioscience, chemical or engineering discipline.
• Preferably entry level post-graduate experience or 3-6 years’ industrial or technical service experience.
• Optional experiences: polymer formulation and characterization, design and applications of polymers to meet application and product requirements. Knowledge of polysaccharide materials is a plus.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Proactive, and self-starting personality. Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Team-player who enjoys working in an international environment.
• Expected to support up to 40% time for travel for application development and customer support.
