Your role as an Application Software Engineer at Movella
As an Application Software Engineer, you will be working on products that focus on capturing, processing, and sharing data on body and motion. These products provide premium solutions for animation, human motion measurement, sports, healthcare, and industrial applications. Together with product management you help translate their product requirements into workable solutions and give estimates on the implementation effort.
You will be part of the Engineering team. This team is divided into four fields of expertise: Application Software Engineering, Embedded Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Quality Assurance. You will be working in an Agile/Scrum team, in which you will be developing applications and features for Movella’s product lines. You will be based in Enschede, the Netherlands.
Key challenges :

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement the next generation of software applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and usability.
• Take ownership of maintaining and enhancing our existing application software products, applying best practices to optimize performance and ensure seamless operation.
• Drive improvements in user interface design and data processing capabilities, leveraging your expertise to create intuitive interfaces and streamline data workflows.
• Embed machine learning algorithms into our software applications, enabling advanced functionality and predictive capabilities to enhance user experience and drive innovation.
• Interact closely with lead engineers, embedded software engineers, and hardware engineers throughout the product development lifecycle, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve project goals and milestones.
• Work alongside Quality Assurance teams to design and specify automated tests, ensuring robustness, reliability, and adherence to quality standards throughout the software development process.

Job requirements
Movella is looking for an independent and proactive Application Software Engineer. Someone who thrives in an environment where your can-do attitude and creative approach to problem solving are highly appreciated. You get thrilled by delivering state-of-the-art solutions to our customers. You have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in software development, with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python with experience in desktop application development using front-end and back-end development frameworks.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles, data processing techniques, and machine learning algorithms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Experience with test automation tools and methodologies is highly desirable.
• Passion for innovation, technology, and continuous learning in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
