Our client is a leading Dutch shipping company committed to the supply of seismic vessels and offshore marine operations . We are seeking a talented Buyer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our continued success.
Job Description:
As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services for our vessels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Consulting suppliers and agents to identify and select suitable vendors.
- Verifying vessel requisitions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Requesting and evaluating proposals from suppliers regarding costs and quality.
- Managing the shipment of goods to vessels.
- Preparing and checking pro-forma and final invoices.
- Overseeing the management of vessel stores.
- Collaborating with other departments on procurement-related matters.
- Providing guidance to crew members on inventory management and processes.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
- Participating in staff meetings and other company events.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of shipping and logistics processes.
- Understanding of company SMS and QHSE standards.
- Ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Verify orders, requisitions, and invoices for accuracy.
- Request and negotiate quotations with suppliers.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of requisitions to vessels.
- Maintain and update the authorized supplier database.
- Evaluate supplier performance and address any deviations.
- Adhere to company SMS and QHSE policies and standards.
