EY-Parthenon is Ernst & Young's global strategy consulting arm. Within the CFO-Consulting department, work is centred on the CFO agenda of international clients across both financial and non-financial sectors. The team advises CFOs and Finance Leadership Teams, supporting them with important challenges. Specialization in transforming the Finance function helps CFOs redefine and future-proof their organizations. This includes developing Finance strategy, organizational design, process improvement, and deploying the latest technologies.

About the role
As a Senior Consultant in Financial Accounting, you will be an integral part of the CFO Consulting team. The team in the Netherlands consists of highly skilled professionals specializing in financial reporting and accounting advisory services. Expertise in technical accounting skills, including IFRS/US GAAP and Dutch GAAP, combined with practical experience in financial reporting processes, is a key strength. A deep understanding of sector-specific regulatory requirements allows for comprehensive guidance to clients.

In this role you will advise both medium-sized and large companies and their stakeholders (e.g. shareholders, financiers or suppliers) in special situations, such as liquidity and profitability problems, restructuring, strategy and complex financing issues. You mostly do this by working with the team on location at the company, which means you also get to experience the dynamics of the company and the sector up close. In addition, you will frequently collaborate with other Sa T disciplines in the areas of valuations, business modelling, sales guidance, real estate, strategy and operations.

Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and participate in various engagements, including IFRS conversions, Initial Public Offerings, IFRS Financial Statements, Gap Analysis, Internal Control, Financial Accounting, and Management Reporting.
Prepare deliverables tailored to client needs.
Stay informed of new accounting developments and their impact on clients.
Attend training programs to continuously develop skills in IFRS, US GAAP, and Dutch GAAP.
Foster cooperative relationships and support collaboration with other service line teams.

Requirements

A degree in accounting or another appropriate academic major.
A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, along with an RA or RC qualification.
Audit or business experience in financial statement close or application of accounting standards.
Mastery of key concepts and principles related to process improvements, project management, and change management, with the ability to apply these consistently.
Exceptional client relationship skills.
Fluency in Dutch.
