Oldenzaal
November 5, 2024
Company presentation
Bleckmann is the expert in supply chain management, providing end-to-end logistic solutions for fashion, lifestyle, and consumer electronics brands. We live up to our customers' promises, continuously striving for improvement and innovation. Efficiency and sustainability are driving factors in our decision-making.
As a multinational organization, we employ team members with diverse backgrounds who share the same values: Entrepreneurship, Expertise, Commitment, and Excellence. We believe these values should be reflected in everything we do and how we collaborate. By joining our team, you contribute to building a better future.
For our relatively new Customs Compliance team, which, along with the operational customs team that includes a.o. the customs declarants, forms the Customs & Trade Compliance Competence Center, we are looking for a Customs Compliance Specialist with a background in the Customs Compliance field who can oversee this process effectively. If you have at least the level of an experienced customs declarant, this is the right position to broaden and expand your knowledge and experience.
Function
As a Customs Compliance Specialist, you are responsible for assessing customs and trade-related activities within established procedures and legal regulations. Additionally, you contribute to the further development of Customs Compliance within the Bleckmann organization in the Netherlands and assist in its implementation in other countries such as Belgium, the UK, and potentially other countries in the future.
You communicate with internal and external customers, as well as Customs and other authorities, on all Customs Compliance-related matters, fully mastering both the Dutch and English languages.
A selection of the tasks and responsibilities are:
- Assisting in developing and implementing the Customs Compliance Policy and the AEO-related internal control framework for import, export, transit, storage (bonded warehouse), master data (e.g., origin, classification, trade agreements), including maintenance of all related procedures.
- Managing all customs permits and other related authorizations and licenses, including maintaining associated registers.
- Contributing to customs-related projects, system and process improvements, establishing reports, and enhancing automation.
- Partially assisting in conducting internal controls, including interaction and follow-up with various warehouse locations, the operational customs team, and other stakeholders.
- Controlling of timely, accurate, and complete processing and archiving of all customs flows and related data/documentation.
- Assisting in establishing customs-related procedures, permits, and authorizations when new customers are onboarded.
- Monitoring changes in legislation, procedures, and systems, including assisting in their implementation, both internally and with customers.
Profile
For the role of Customs Compliance Specialist, we require a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international trade, logistics, economics, or business administration. The candidate must also possess specific knowledge and skills in customs declarations, compliance, and international trade.
You are a meticulous and precise individual who proactively checks for changes in laws and regulations in daily practice. As a team player, you can build a network both internally and externally.
Proposal
At Bleckmann, you will be part of an environment where we work with passion for our customers every day. Additionally, we offer:
- An attractive salary, depending on education and experience
- Working in a pleasant and international environment
- Room for new initiatives and ideas, whether you work with us for a week, a month, or a year
