GOLang Development Lead

A GOLang Development Lead, you maintain and advance current applications in production, which are crucial for the integration of our private cloud infrastructure in the Netherlands. From several of the current in house tools, you will be able to be the architect, develop and take important decisions that will drive the functionalities and features for at least 200 engineers that will depend on these tools. These applications will run in monolithic servers, microservices and full deployments in bare-metal kubernetes. You will be responsible for a number of servers, repositories and deployments in kubernetes. You will decide on the methodologies of continuous integration and continuous deployments. You should be at the top of the chain to all the Go Lang internal infrastructure applications from the Netherlands.

People: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of these tools to our engineers. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential in fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Process: You will have at your disposal multiple environments for Developing, Testing and Production. You will also have supporting hardware for your personal journey.
Technology: You are free to help implement and push the envelope to the forefront of the market and implement the most relevant currently available technologies in your software and in the environment where they will run.
Task: Day-to-day tasks will include designing and building and improving next steps of the tools our engineers will use to make their work easier and swiftly available.

Qualifications

What you need to offer:

University level thinking
Extensive Go Lang development experience
Minimum of 5 years as a Developer
Experience on software architecture
Experience developing API systems (with or without frontend)
Experience on My SQL, Mongo DB and other databases or in memory storage (Cockroachdb, Redis and others)
Comfortable with Gitlab and CI/CD practices
Experience with integration of systems
Extensive knowledge in security practices and experienced in auditing and compliance

Bonus skills:

Kubernetes skills, container building and microservices intercommunication
Python, Ruby, Bash, Perl scripting languages
Atlassian tools, Jira, Confluence and others
AWS EC2 and related components
VMWare, VCenter and related expertise on Virtual machines
Comfortable to create extensive documentation to your audience
