HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER
REPORTS TO: VP of HR
LOCATION: The Netherlands (Rotterdam)
POSITION SUMMARY
The HR BP is responsible for a wide variety of HR-related functions with a strategic and operational focus. Areas of support include identifying goals and objectives aligned with the business, performance management, employee/manager relations, recruiting/onboarding, policies, best practices, and processes. This role requires a diverse skillset with broad knowledge, a people-oriented approach, and strong emphasis for being a credible resource to the business. This role works closely with our global HR team to support our entire global footprint.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver planning and workforce development initiatives that support the changing dynamics of our business
- Alignment of the business with established company objectives, goals, and initiatives. Ability to evaluate effectiveness of joint initiatives.
- Deliver daily support for operations and technologies that improve the business, and ensure key stakeholders understand how to beneficially use each platform
- Build relationships with the team and maintain consistent, ongoing communications
- Coaching business leaders from both a business and employee perspective to achieve organizational outcomes.
- Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, handle complaints and disciplinary procedures, resolve conflicts, promote a positive work environment, etc. in a compliant and solutions-oriented outcome
- Serve as a liaison and key resource that ensures productive, ongoing continuity between employees and management
- Conduct appropriate investigations related to employee complaints, harassment, and discrimination allegations with a timely and legal approach
- Own and understand essential aspects of the budget for Human Resources
- Recruiting and Selection: Oversee the hiring process, including interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and new hire training
- Talent & Performance Management – lead initiatives such as headcount management, talent allocation, general performance process/tools, compensation management, appraisal forms, goal setting, alignment of objectives, succession, etc.
- Employee Benefits & Payroll: oversight to local benefit programs, supplemental plans, fringes, holiday, leave management, payroll support, contracts, etc.
- Identify training needs, training justification, coordinating workshops, and supporting professional development
- Overall compliance acumen with the ability to recognize acceptable levels of risk or where we need to implement policies and procedures. Ensure compliance from an essential “best practice” perspective with company policies, employment laws, labor laws, and regulations, etc.
- Develop and Align Policies: Create, revise, recommend, maintain policies and procedures related to employment arenas
- Work on health and safety regulations; track BHV trainings in the Netherlands. Understand application of law requirements in various countries and implement relevant procedures
- Manage periodical medical check-ups
- Sick-leaves management: register / deregister sick employees, manage long-term sicknesses and reintegration process
- Develop employee engagement opportunities: events, employee surveys, activities
- Office Management: general oversight of facility management, vendor relationships, employee events, meetings, contracts, etc.

- Demonstrated knowledge of country-specific employment laws, compliance, payroll, and general HR practices - ability to interpret/apply accordingly based on situations
- Demonstrated knowledge with performance & compensation management practices
- HRIS savvy – maintain employee information, manage data, dashboards, key HR metrics, recruiting, electronic files, etc.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills; open to changing responsibilities
- Able to solve problems, develop mutually beneficial solutions, outside the box thinker
- Superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to adjust communication style based on the audience or situation
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality in all tasks; experience managing confidential information is required
- Possess a high degree of professionalism with excellent interpersonal skills - ability to develop rapport, trust, and positive working relationships with all employees.
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and appropriate follow-up
- Work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to Travel and work onsite within an office environment

- Willing to accept “other” duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources; 2+ years of management experience
- Fluency in English and good level of Dutch is required; French would be a plus
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Power Point, Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience with HRIS and ATS is desired.
- Experience with Adobe, Employee Forms, Surveys, Charts, Reporting, and regular manipulation of HR related data
