Junior Transaction Manager - Corporate Sector Lending - Industrials

Corporate Sector Lending (CSL) Netherlands is at the heart of ING’s Wholesale Banking division in The Netherlands. As a market leader, we are a strategic partner for our clients, which are amongst the largest Dutch multinationals. The CSL team is responsible for the co-origination, structuring and execution of bilateral/syndicated credit facilities, ranging from strategic events (acquisition finance and/or bridge loans) to general corporate financings (capex, working capital) and daily banking needs (cash management, trade financing). CSL employs 38 FTE’s split across three teams: Industrials, Retail & Services and International Clients.
The Industrials team focuses on clients that are active in a variety of capital-intensive sectors such as construction, automotive, manufacturing, chemicals and heavy industries. The team is expanding and will start covering corporate clients in sectors like Energy, Transport & Logistics, Food & Agri and Telecom, Media, Technology & Healthcare (TMT&H).
We are looking for an ambitious graduate or a young professional with up to two years of work experience who is eager to join our dynamic and client facing CSL Industrials team. You will be working within a team of 10 lending professionals who will support your development with active coaching and learning-on-the-job.
You will have the unique opportunity to actively participate in transactions and be involved in strategic dialogues with CEO’s, CFO’s and Treasury teams of the clients and learn from it.
Your role and responsibilities

Perform (financial) analyses on clients, sectors, and peers
-
Prepare and write credit applications and pricing of transactions
-
Preparation of financial models and contribute to client pitch books
-
Develop and apply in-depth sector/product knowledge to build a strong relationship with our clients
-
(Support the) co-origination, structuring and execution of bilateral and syndicated senior debt transactions
-
Monitor client performance and other portfolio management tasks
-
(Support in) drafting and negotiation of loan documentation
-
Liaise with colleagues in Client Coverage, Transaction Services, Sector Teams, Legal, Risk and other stakeholders in the Deal Teams to ensure superior client experience
You are

A person with excellent analytical skills, with an eye for detail and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

An enthusiastic person with high level of self-motivation willing and eager to develop core lending and banking skills

Strongly interested in assessing business models and identifying credit risks
-
Able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
-
An strong communicator and team player, able to efficiently co-ordinate a multiple stakeholder environment

A person with client focused mindset able to understand and cater for client needs

A person with high-level of integrity. You live by the ING Orange code - display honesty, prudence, and responsibility
You need

Academic master’s degree
-
Maximum of two years working experience within the financial sector
-
Excellent analytical and communication skills
-
Knowledge of or affinity with financial modelling
-
Commercial drive and strong interest in financial services
-
Excellent verbal and written skills in English and preferably also in Dutch
