For this role it is a requirement that you have a proficiency in the Dutch language, both spoken and written. We also we expect you to work and live in the Netherlands.

You are an all-round receptionist who enjoys taking an active role in secretarial, administrative, financial, and organizational tasks. In this role, you are the central point of contact and the first point of contact for colleagues and external contacts.

Your tasks and responsibilities as a receptionist include:
  • Manning the reception, welcoming guests, and providing coffee and tea at meetings;

Flexibility is important in this role. In addition to the tasks already mentioned, during busy peak periods for cultivation, you may be asked to lend a hand with practical, hands-on work for the research. This could involve activities such as helping with potting plants or reading water meters.
The Team
You will work two days a week in a team of 20 people based at the experimental location in Randwijk. At our small, independent location, we conduct applied research in the fields of fruit and tree/greenery.

In the Randwijk team of the Open Field Crops business unit, we focus on sustainable innovations and developments in fruit growing and tree nursery/greenery. We collaborate across various disciplines, ranging from entomology and post-harvest physiology to technology and economics, for both fruit and tree nursery sectors. We are one of the partners of Proeftuin Randwijk, which welcomes around 3,000 visitors from both the Netherlands and abroad each year.

Wageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. A few highlights from our Collective Labour Agreement include:
  • working hours that can be discussed and arranged so that they allow for the best possible work-life balance;
  • the option to accrue additional compensation hours by working more;
  • sabbatical leave, study leave, and partially paid parental leave;
  • there is a strong focus on vitality and you can make use of the sports facilities available on campus for a small fee;
  • a fixed December bonus of 8,3%;
  • excellent pension scheme.
In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 2.287,- and € 3.088,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 4-5). For this role we offer a 16 hours contract. You will initially receive a one-year contract, which will be extended in mutual enthusiasm.
