Research Associate, Shared Neoantigen TCR Discovery Team

Neogene is looking for you to join our shared neoantigen T cell receptor (TCR) discovery research team as a Research Associate. You will assume responsibilities for conducting experimental and pre-clinical work aiming to develop shared neoantigen-based T cell therapies. The position is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and you will report to the Shared neoantigen TCR discovery team lead.
Responsibilities
- Perform TCR isolation and characterization studies under the supervision of senior research staff. Involved techniques include density gradient-, magnetic bead- and flow cytometry-based isolation of human immune cells (T cells, B cells, Dendritic cells and others), phenotypic and functional evaluation of immune cells by flow cytometry (surface and intracellular staining, proliferation tracking, cytotoxicity assays) and genetic modification of primary immune cells and cell lines using retro-/lenti-viruses and gene editing tools (e.g. CRISPR-Cas9).
- Support assay development
- Document experimental results in electronic laboratory journal and databases.
- Presenting obtained results in internal work-discussions.
- Complete tasks relating to laboratory operations under guidance of the Lab-manager.
- Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Master's in Biomedical Sciences or a related field, recently graduated you are invited to apply.
- Industry experience is a plus.
- Knowledge on aseptic cell culture techniques and first-hand experience with multi-color flow cytometry is required.
- Candidates with a background in immunology are strongly preferred.
- Additional training in the area of B and T cell culture, genetic manipulation of cells using retroviruses, lentiviruses or gene editing tools (e.g. CRISPR-Cas9), molecular biology (next-generation sequencing and vector design/construction) in a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills, a strong sense of urgency and responsibility with regards to work duties and the ability to deliver results based on challenging timelines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced growing company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
- We are looking for a person who will lead by example and is a self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Authorization to work with GMOs is preferred.
- You must be authorized to work in The Netherlands.
