We’re Engineering Trainer and we are disrupting the learning market for engineers worldwide. Our Saas product is an essential business solution for technical skill-building in the energy and chemical sector and is an industry-dedicated alternative to Linked In Learning or Udemy for business.
Founded in 2019 we’ve met our milestones through organic growth. Now, after completing our seed-stage funding round, we are accelerating our growth with the target of dominating the market for on-demand technical training courses for engineers globally. The Role
This role is full-time and based in our office in Bunnik close to Utrecht in the Netherlands. Innovation and efficient decision-making are essential for our growth. We believe that collaboration in person is vital for this, meaning this role would require you to be in our office for at least 80% of the time.
As a Sales & Business Development professional at Engineering Trainer, you will be on the front line of driving new sales and expanding our business. Your primary focus will be on identifying and securing new clients. Here you will be responsible for generating leads, pitching the Engineering Trainer product, understanding the stakeholders involved and their challenges, and ultimately closing deals.
You will work closely with the executive team, including the founders, to ensure that the sales effort remains aligned with the product and also to provide feedback on which other areas, such as marketing, IT, and course portfolio can be fine-tuned.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and engage potential clients to grow our customer base and expand into new markets.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through research, networking, and outreach activities.
- Conduct sales presentations, product demonstrations, and negotiations to close deals with new clients.
- Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in target companies to secure long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement effective sales campaigns and materials.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, potential markets, and competitive opportunities.
- Provide feedback to the product development team based on market insights and customer needs.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
- Join in the optimization and development of sales material and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building relationships and closing deals.
- Results-driven mindset with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High proficiency in the English language.
- A growth mindset, a lifelong learner, and a doer attitude.
- Familiarity with the energy and chemical sectors is a plus.

Step 1: Screening, with Richard Fawcett, our operations lead (30mins video call)
Step 2: In-depth about your skills, with Luuk our founder and CEO (1hr video call or face-to-face)
Step 3: Face-to-face Interviews, with all members of the management team, including an assessment case (2 x 1hr face-to-face)
