About Yamaha Motor Europe:
Yamaha Motor Europe is responsible for coordinating the marketing and sales activities of our products in the European marketplace, mainly: Yamaha motorcycles and scooters, marine outboard engines, Wave runner water vehicles, 4-wheel All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s), golf cars, snowmobiles, and generators.

For Yamaha Motor Europe N.V., located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in our Information Systems Division.

You will work in an international team with a passion for technology. The workspace/server team consists of 10 colleagues, and we are in daily contact with other infrastructure teams. The full infrastructure team consists of 35 people.


Principle accountabilities:

• Monitor and maintain Yamaha’s IT infrastructure (on premise & in the cloud);
• Manage and administer the Microsoft SQL Server High Availability cluster;
• Minimize the business impact in the event of an IT service interruption;
• Actively minimize the impact of security vulnerabilities and incidents;
• Manage the performance and capacity of the IT infrastructure, resources and capabilities;
• Maintain an accurate and complete repository of all IT infrastructure components;
• Provide the appropriate platforms for the business applications, following defined IT standards;
• Maintain internal control for security and auditing measures;
• Evaluate interrelationships between systems and identify how changes may affect other systems.

Technical skills:

• Microsoft SQL Server
• Hypervisors (VMware)
• Citrix/Provisioning server/Ivanti
• Microsoft Windows Server
• Backup software preferably Veeam
• Understanding Security impact
• Nice to have: Linux
• Nice to have: System center suite (SCOM, SCOR, SCCM)
• Nice to have: Thin Clients (Wyse, Igel)
• Nice to have: Android based hand terminals (preferably Zebra)
• Nice to have: Knowledge and experience with networking technologies (Switches, firewalls, Cisco, Check Point, etc.)
• Business level English (any other languages are a pre);
• Available for 40 hours per week

What do you bring?

• Bachelor level through experience or education in business or IT;
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar function;
• Ability to learn and adapt to an ever changing technical environment;
• Good analytical thinking;
• Ability to investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents in a self-sufficient way;
• Good communication and social skills in an international environment;
• Proficient knowledge of the English language, both spoken and in writing;
• Mastering other European languages is an advantage;
• Willingness to travel inside Europe.
