YME is responsible for coordinating the marketing and sales activities of Yamaha Motor products in the European marketplace, mainly: Yamaha motorcycles and scooters, marine outboard engines, Wave runner water vehicles, 4-wheel All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s), golf cars, snowmobiles and generators.
For YME, for the Division Network Training & Development, located at Schiphol-Rijk in the Netherlands we are looking for an enthusiastic L&D Program Specialist Sales.

About the role:
The Yamaha Motor Academy is responsible for retail operation education (Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Service, Parts & Accessories) and provides for all training programs and courses in 18 languages to around 3,000 dealers across Europe. It is our mission to give our dealers a competitive advantage in their marketplace, enabling them to provide the best Customer Experience as well as running a profitable business. We offer a blended learning journey composed by business and technical trainings applied to real-life business situations, designed to advance dealers’ skills in an engaging and fun way. Our online and offline courses are accessible and highly engaging, utilizing the latest education methodologies and technologies to ensure that each learning journey has a great mix of on-the-job learning, entertaining e-learnings, social and cooperative interactions as well as more conventional workshops.

As a member of the Learning & Development team, the L&D Program Specialist Sales will develop programs and courses for Sales, Marketing and Business Management for the various product groups that are being distributed and retailed in the European marketplace.

You will understand the training needs that support our dealers’ sales performance and customer experience, translating these needs into engaging and impactful programs. This includes developing e-learnings, instructor-led trainings, and organizing and executing Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions to ensure a consistent and high-quality training delivery throughout Europe. In support to division management, you will assist with defining, developing and rolling out the European strategy for education regarding Yamaha Sales & Business retail operations.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Develop impactful, high-quality programs with captivating content and efficient learning journeys in collaboration with stakeholders and agencies. Manage your own budget for program development.
  • Organize trainings (TTT-format) according to the annual training schedule and equip other trainers with all the necessary tools and materials for local training sessions.
  • Assist in defining and developing European L&D strategy / Mid-Term Plan of the Yamaha Motor Academy for Sales operations.
  • Support the L&D Operations Team in defining national implementation and yearly execution plans for Sales, Marketing & Business Management programs and courses.
  • Monitor learner engagement, progress, and KPIs, and follow up as required.
  • Develop, build and distribute standardized training packages, e-learnings, procedure guides, manuals, hardware and techniques.
  • Together with the L&D Operations Team, ensure that the Sales, Marketing & Business Management programs & courses in our Learning Experience Platform (LXP) are correctly set-up, maintained and developed.
  • As a Yamaha Motor Academy ambassador, promote and optimize Yamaha’s direction for Europe - train, guide and support the distributors as needed.


What do you bring?
  • At least higher vocational education level, supplemented with a didactical testimonial;
  • At least 3 years relevant experience as retail Sales Advisor/Sales Manager or comparable role in the Motorcycle/Automotive/Marine industry;
  • Affinity with and knowledge of our products and our business;
  • Good understanding of learning principles with a proven track record and how to apply them in a dynamic learning environment;
  • Ability to lead and guide a variety of teams from different cultures across Europe;
  • Good communication and presentation skills, result driven, enthusiastic, pro-active, hands on and well organized;
  • Experience with E-learning development & Learning management system are considered as a real advantage;
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English;
  • Flexible and eager to learn;
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours and prepared to travel abroad.
