About the Role
We are seeking a Registered Health Clinician to join our integrated Adult Community Mental Health and Addiction service. If you are a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist or have a DAPAANZ registration with proven experience in Alcohol and other Drugs and enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary team environment then we would like to hear from you. You will play a vital role in the delivery of care to people who are most severely affected by mental illness and/or addiction in our Hastings community.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team consists of: Addictions clinicians, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioner, Medical Officers, Community Support Workers and Administrative team all with a passion in supporting our community living with mental health and addiction issues. Our team is dedicated to working with people to enhance their recovery by which they are living with conditions such as alcohol and substance abuse issues and co-existing conditions including psychotic disorders, severe personality disorders, severe anxiety disorders, major depression.

About you
To be considered for this role we are looking for someone who can demonstrate the below key qualities,
  • Current DAPANNZ registration or a Registration in Nursing, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with proven experience in addiction and other drug issues
  • A full clean drivers’ licence.
  • An effective communicator to work alongside people to facilitate and enable recovery and resilience skills.
  • Highly motivated to make a difference and able to provide support, encouragement and motivation to engage with people in recovery.
  • Ability to advocate for patients and whanau and work in collaboration with clients, whanau and staff.
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to incorporate this into your practice.
  • A can-do attitude to maximise recovery for our Hastings community.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
