Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We have a unique opportunity for an Assistant Programme Director to take the operational lead and oversight across all UC's student success initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Student Success, you will ensure the long-term planning, development and implementation of robust frameworks for UC's Kaitoko | Student Advisory Services, lead student facing components of Kia Angitu | the Student Success Programme and oversee the delivery of the Enrichment programme content in alignment with the university's and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic's strategic priorities. The Assistant Programme Director is the crucial link in leading pan-university change, connecting delivery with faculty and specific service unit expectations, of student success initiatives.


Mōu | Who You Are
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in an education or tertiary environment, including a proven track record in enhancing student engagement, support services and outcomes.

You will also have:
  • a minimum of a Master's degree in the field of education, educational psychology or other related discipline
  • an in-depth understanding of an academic / education community
  • experience designing and implementing strategies that align with educational institute goals and drive student success
  • exceptional interpersonal skills, with an ability to partner with all levels of stakeholders
  • knowledge in analysing and utilising data to inform programme development and assess student success metrics
  • a commitment to inclusiveness, participation, recognition, support, and sense of connection and belonging in an education setting
  • proven experience in designing and implementing effective student support programmes that enhance retention and graduation rates
  • natural leadership skills, to independently lead and develop a highly motivated and efficient team
  • skills in managing and maintaining budgets
  • experience working with external funding agencies and other key stakeholders
  • be a pragmatic leader, have lateral thinking and problem solving skills
  • active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga of cultural practices and traditions, and valuing te reo Māori.
