Building Facilities Manager

The Ministry of Justice provides essential services that underpin New Zealand's legal system. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Building Facilities Manager to support Ministry property needs and requirements across our courts and wider property portfolio in the Auckland CBD.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with external suppliers and contractors, ensuring services are delivered on time and to standard.
  • Assist with two major ongoing projects at the Auckland District court, providing support to Project Managers as required.
  • Provide regular reports to management on the condition and performance of the buildings in the portfolio, including recommendations for improvements and long-term planning.
  • Support the Senior Facilities Manager in their daily operations, carrying out tasks as required.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including judiciary, to ensure alignment with Ministry objectives.

To be successful in the role you will have:
  • Proven experience in facilities or property management, preferably within the public sector or a large multi-site organisation.
  • Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with demonstrated experience in planned preventative maintenance programmes.
  • A subject matter expert in a technical field such as construction, HVAC, MEP or FLS.
  • Experience in contract management preferably in the construction, asset renewal or property management field.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels, with outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
  • A full New Zealand drivers licence.
  • An understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Māori.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $83,562 and $116,273 based on skills and experience.
