The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have the opportunity available to join our Change & Engagement team within our Major Projects team as a Change Lead. You will be focused on ensuring that your allocated project streams are sector ready, able, and willing to take on new processes and technologies. This will mean that you will:

Plan, prepare and implement change processes in partnership with our change and project teams
Prepare our communications products to ensure that they are fit for purpose and support real sector readiness
Implement and action our project change process across local, regional and national public health functions
Work closely with the sector to understand what they need to adopt the changes
Work within the team to help strengthen our solutions with grounded sector insights

The Major Projects team within the Protection Directorate will be leading a series of projects the aim to bring together and support health protection services across the new National Public Health Service. This will initially involve both establishing unifying technology and aligning our ways of working in partnership with our stakeholders to implement nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored services.

You have proven experience in leading and coordinating change work. You're able to think, plan, and act on behalf of change management and to connect with people to build an engaged and productive workforce. You have an understanding of kawa and tikanga and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi & some experience working in partnership with iwi & Māori communities. Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

Previous change management experience or experience in project management within advisory roles or similar
Previous experience with stakeholder engagement and communication planning and coordination, with strong writing skills
Strong self-management and highly-organised to meet commitments and deliver to timeframes
Ability to quickly build and maintain constructive and effective relationships at all levels of the organisation
A willingness to adapt and demonstrate leadership on behalf of the team when required
An understanding of change management methodologies and best practices, such as Prosci, ADKAR, or similar models
Experienced in providing support and advice in a multi-project environment is desirable.
