About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic, proactive and experienced Chapter Lead within our Group Performance and Capital Markets Team. This role is responsible for leading on Governance for Capex and Leases across Spark. It is a pivotal role providing strategic direction and financial stewardship to the business, driving for best outcomes that deliver on our commitments, with leadership of a direct report.

Day to day you will be involved in:
  • Lead the Capex and Lease Governance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Develop and implement robust governance frameworks for Capex and lease activities.
  • Lead the business in navigating complex investment trade-offs, balancing customer requirements, financial returns, technology evolution, lifecycle management, capacity and coverage needs, and available Cap Ex and Op Ex.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for capex and lease activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive alignment and effective decision-making.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of capex and lease activities, identifying opportunities for improvement.


What experience you'll bring?
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the telecommunications or technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of capex and lease governance principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and influence stakeholders of all levels.
  • Able to see the bigger picture whilst also rolling sleeves up and being across the numbers.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Adaptable and agile, able to prioritise and juggle multiple demands across the portfolio.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in finance or business e.g. CA.
