This is a full-time position offering at least 30 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours.
Main duties:
  • Contribute to menu development and innovation by suggesting new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking methods, presentation, and food safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the management team to oversee inventory, control costs, and maximize profitability.
  • Address customer inquiries, special requests, and dietary preferences to deliver exceptional service.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including stir-fries, barbecued items, fried foods, and Chinese cuisine.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation to maintain our high standards.
  • Work with the management team to optimize workflow and enhance efficiency, especially during peak times.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations to uphold health standards.
Job pre-requisites:
  • Can work on the roster.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Three years of experience working in a commercial kitchen is a must.
  • Proved knowledge and experience of cooking Chinese cuisine.
  • Must possess a keen eye for detail and a hard-working attitude.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must maintain personal cleanliness to ensure high standards of hygiene.
  • The successful candidate must pass a police check and drug test.
