Claims Triage Consultant

We have 2 exciting fixed-term contract opportunities (11-months and 6 months) due to internal secondments. These roles will ideally be based in our Wellington office on a hybrid basis, however we are open to people working remotely anywhere in the country. Our roles are an opportunity to join a super supportive team that have that care factor for each other. You'll also have the chance to make a difference in pivotal moments in people's lives by providing exceptional care and advice.
Please note, there will be an initial training period of 4 weeks which will be full-time, 9:00am to 5:00pm. You will need to be able to commit to this if you are successfully hired. After training, we have a variety of full-time shifts Monday to Friday between 8am and 5:30pm.

What a day in the role might look like

  • You'll provide an exceptional service to all our MAS Members, including handling inbound calls, making outbound calls and responding to emails in a fast-paced environment.
  • Giving accurate and timely advice to our Members about their general insurance claims and setting expectations on the process.
  • Engaging with suppliers and repairs to ensure the Members' claim is resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a high level of accuracy when gathering and processing information.
  • Supporting our wider claims team with lodging e-claims.

Key attributes and experience we are looking for

  • Our ideal candidate will have experience in claims and/or phone-based customer service roles.
  • A genuine desire to help others and drive to go the extra mile for Member satisfaction.
  • Patience, empathy, and a people centric approach.
  • Good situational judgement, the ability to adjust your approach to meet the needs of different Member scenarios.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
  • Great time management, organisational skills and resilience are also super important to be successful in this role.
