Executive Assistant to Regional Commissioner - Auckland Central & East Region

Based at Regional Office in Ellerslie, Auckland
- Permanent, full time, 37.55 hours per week
- Salary is starting from (B05) $78,222.00 to $94,689.00
Based in our Auckland Regional Office in Ellerslie and working closely with two Executive Assistants that support the other Regional Commissioners in Auckland, you will be part of a wider team of professionals, who work towards delivering the Ministry's strategic plans. Our regional operations team is supportive and welcoming and works to add value to the organisation through a high level of performance.
What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
The focal point of your practice will be to support the Regional Commissioner for Auckland Central & East region by providing a professional executive support service. This position is more than just diary management. Yes, you'll be providing the usual email and meeting management services, but we're looking for an EA who is self-managing, comfortable managing multiple deadlines and has an unflappable approach in difficult situations.
You'll be encouraged to add value and show initiative and need to be intuitive to the Commissioner's needs and pitch in where needed. Your approachability and excellent interpersonal communication skills will ensure you can confidently work with a variety of stakeholders like the public, community providers and the NZ Police. You will be exposed to sensitive information and high levels of confidentiality, so integrity and trust in this position is vital.
The Regional Commissioner you'll be responsible for is professional, hardworking, and focused on delivering a large work programme. Enthusiastic and forthright, he expects a high level of support when required. You'll need to be two steps ahead to support the Commissioner's varied and fast paced work programme.
What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, verbally and in writing
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel
- Showcase strong organisational and planning abilities
- Approach challenges with a pragmatic mindset and sound problem-solving skills
- Hold a NZ Driver's licence and have the ability to drive Ministry vehicles as required
- Previous experience in an executive/administrator role, supporting a senior-level manager, would be advantageous
