Hydraulic Service Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Technician with a strong knowledge of major brand hydraulic components and the ability to analyse, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems. This role involves interpreting hydraulic schematics, installing and commissioning components, and managing project delivery while ensuring adherence to technical specifications and customer requirements. The technician will also promote great customer service, coordinate maintenance checks, and collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and mechanical components, utilizing a strong knowledge of major brand hydraulic components.
- Read and understand hydraulic schematics, including Open Loop, Closed Loop, Logic Valve, and other circuit types to guide installations and repairs.
- Install and commission major hydraulic components such as pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders with precision.
- Plan and manage job delivery, ensuring effective control of costs, schedules, and quality.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers to ensure high satisfaction and address any inquiries or concerns.
- Complete job cards and necessary documentation accurately to track time and materials used on each job.
- Coordinate and conduct Planned Maintenance (PM) checks, ensuring compliance with all safety and service requirements
- Proven sound knowledge of ‘major' brand Hydraulic components.
- Previous experience in servicing hydraulics and/or mechanical equipment in Industrial and/or Marine Sectors.

Proven understanding of all test procedures for valves, cylinders, pumps and motors.
- Relevant trade qualification/certification.

Proven technical diagnosis skills.
- Sound knowledge of Hydraulic Hose and Fitting Threads and applications of same.
- Experience in Hydraulic Tube Bending and Installation is an advantage.
The successful candidate must pass drug, alcohol, and medical checks.
