At Kāinga Ora, ours is the important responsibility of transforming New Zealand's housing choices, outcomes and the entire housing sector by creating homes and communities that allow New Zealanders to thrive.
What is exciting about working for Kāinga Ora is getting the chance to make a real and positive impact on New Zealanders' lives. With skills, planning and purposeful action, our people are creating the homes and neighbourhoods that will build the future of Aotearoa.
We are passionate about transforming New Zealand for the better. That includes being a trusted partner for Māori and iwi, protecting and enabling their rights, interests and aspirations under the guidance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Our organisation is going through change, and applications from internal staff with an affected status will be reviewed first.

As our newest Information Centre Assistant at our Mangere Information Centre, your role will be to run the day-to-day operation of the Information Centre and act as the first point of contact for people wishing to know more about what Kāinga Ora has to offer them. You'll share information about our Kāinga Ora developments and the work we're doing in the area, and will engage with the local community, customers, first home buyers and our build partners.
This opportunity is 12 hours per week, working on-site at the Information Centre from 10am-4pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Some flexibility to support the team outside of these hours may be required at times.
The Information Centre is a lovely environment, where no two days will be the same. If you're interested in property and enjoy being community facing, this could be the ideal role for you.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring
If you have excellent customer service skills, great communication and a warm and welcoming presence, then we would love to hear from you.
Here's what we'd love for you to bring to the role:

- A positive, friendly, proactive, and self-motivated approach
- Prior front-facing customer service experience
- Excellent interpersonal and written and communication skills
- Hands-on problem-solving work ethic
- Working knowledge of common social media platforms
- Experience in working with diverse communities and stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
We offer competitive salaries, five weeks' annual leave and a benefits package including a range of insurances, flexible working arrangements and career development. These benefits are described in more detail here https://careers.kaingaora.govt.nz/a-great-place-to-work/benefits
