The Budget team has the primary responsibility for coordinating the Budget process, including working closely with the Minister of Finance and their office. The Budget team supports the Government and the wider public service by leading each phase of the annual Budget process, including Budget strategy, design, ministerial decision-making and production.
The Budget team supports the production of the Economic and Fiscal Updates and other public finance processes. We also act as an advisor to Treasury teams on fiscal implications and applying the fiscal management approach to various proposals.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity in our Budget team for a Senior Analyst to join us to support the delivery of priority areas of the Budget process.
Roles in the Budget team are high-profile and provide plenty of opportunities for personal growth and stretch. As well as having responsibility for delivering specific outputs, you'll be part of a close-knit team working together on one of the Treasury's key products.
Appointing salary for this role will be between $126,612 and $148,955 per annum, based on skills and experience
Ō pūmanawa | About You
The ideal candidate preferably should have a general understanding of the Budget process and the public financial management system, be able to deliver quality advice in a flexible and fast-paced work environment, have strong relationship management and communication skills, and enjoy working in a high performing team with a supportive and friendly culture.
For Senior Analyst applications, a minimum of five years' policy experience is a must.
