First Officer roles now open
Exciting growth opportunity
Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne and Perth-based positions
About the business:
Having operated very successfully in the Middle East for over 10 years, Texel Air has now expanded its operations into NZ and Australia. Our NZ operation is well established and boasts an impressive OTP whilst our Australian operations have just begun with the first aircraft now operating out of our Brisbane base.
By mid-2024 another three B737 NG Boeing Converted Freighters will enter our fleet - and there's more growth to come after that!
About the role:
Along with excellent, well-maintained aircraft we also need excellent people. We need pilots who thrive in a dynamic environment, who approach challenges with innovative solutions, who understand the importance to our clients of schedule integrity and who can deliver service that consistently exceeds expectations.
The Senior First Officer will provide second-in-command support to the Pilot in Command (Captain) and where required, provide support to Flight Instructors and other trainees during simulator details.
As a Senior First Officer, you will be required to execute the tasks and duties assigned by the procedures specified in the Operations Manuals or delegated by the Pilot-in-Command. You will also need to support the Pilot-in-Command in the management of flight and decision-making by any means available and apply the principles of CRM best practices. In the case of Pilot-in-Command incapacitation during flight, you will be responsible for taking over full command of the aircraft.
You will be required to work shift work, be contactable outside normal office hours and weekends if required and be willing to travel within Australia, New Zealand and internationally from time to time.
About you:
As an experienced Senior First Officer, you will need to:
Have a current ATPL issued by the New Zealand Civil Aviation or the Civil Aviation Authority of Australia, subject to you obtaining a New Zealand ATPL.
Have a Type Rating on the B737 NG, preferably with recent (within at least the last 5 years) experience with the following flight hours:
3000 hrs Total Time, and
2000 hrs on MPA, and
1000 hrs on Texel Air types, or
1000 hrs on types > 50 t MTOW
Currently reside or be prepared to reside in either Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne or Perth depending on the available base.
These roles will take full advantage of your great communication skills and ability to build great relationships at all levels. While needing a high level of drive and initiative you will also have that balance of technical skills combined with a pragmatic hands-on approach. In return, you'll be joining a supportive family-focused organisation with a competitive salary package.
If you are a seasoned pilot with a passion for cargo operations, or maybe just looking for a change, we'd love to hear from you.
