Senior Treasury Accountant

Te Tūranga | The role:
In this role you will work alongside the Senior Manager for Financial Markets Accounting in all aspects of finance support of the Institutional Banking & Global Markets and Treasury business for both of ASB as well as CBA NZ Branch, including daily P&L control, monthly financial accounting, management reporting and analysis.
You'll develop a deep understanding of how the bank manages its financial risks.
Also included within the role is the production of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual Group Statutory and Regulatory disclosures that involve financial markets instruments and provision of appropriate analysis and commentaries to senior stakeholders including the CEO of NZ Branch as well as the CFO for ASB.
Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful?
Success in this role will be evidenced by becoming recognised as the finance business partner for the Institutional Banking & Global Markets and Treasury business. We therefore seek candidates with strong financial and management accounting skills along with a general understanding of treasury instruments and exposure to banking product systems. Excellent business writing skills and experience preparing reports and papers for senior management is important.

As one of the most exciting and technically challenging areas in the bank's finance function, we are seeking candidates with:
- experience working in big four audit firms / large corporate finance functions; and
A CA qualification (or nearing completion) would be beneficial.
