We are looking for an experienced Content Editor to join our team for the release of an upcoming photography monograph/book titled “My Story in Red” by Taiye Omokore. This project delves into the connection between Nigerian customs and Welsh culture, focusing on traditional Nigerian symbols such as distinctive caps, the Gele (a traditional head wrap), and traditional beads. These cultural elements reflect key aspects of Nigerian lifestyle and heritage, with the goal of reconnecting Nigerians in Wales—particularly those who haven’t visited Nigeria—with their cultural roots.
As the Content Editor, your primary responsibility will be to help the photographer fine-tune the storytelling, ensuring that the narrative seamlessly aligns with the images, while also handling various editorial tasks to bring the book to life. This is a unique opportunity to work in a creative and dynamic environment where both artistry and precision are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: ₦100,000.00 - ₦200,000.00 per month

As the Content Editor, your primary responsibility will be to help the photographer fine-tune the storytelling, ensuring that the narrative seamlessly aligns with the images, while also handling various editorial tasks to bring the book to life. This is a unique opportunity to work in a creative and dynamic environment where both artistry and precision are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Image Selection and Curation: Work closely with the photographer to curate and select images that align with the book’s theme and visual narrative.
- Storytelling and Sequencing: Arrange images in a way that creates a cohesive, compelling visual flow, ensuring the accompanying stories enhance the imagery.
- Image Editing and Consistency: Oversee technical editing to ensure images are of the highest quality and maintain visual consistency throughout the monograph.
- Layout Design Collaboration: Coordinate with graphic designers or independently handle the layout, ensuring the smooth integration of images and text.
- Publisher and Printer Coordination: Liaise with publishers and printers to guarantee that the monograph is produced to the highest standards.
- Distribution Strategy: Assist in identifying and coordinating with distribution platforms, including both traditional outlets and online platforms like Amazon.
- Quality Assurance and Proofing: Conduct thorough proofing to eliminate inconsistencies and errors before finalizing the book.
- Marketing and Promotion Input: Provide insight and suggestions for marketing strategies to ensure the book reaches its target audience.
- Final Review and Approval: Oversee the final review process to ensure the monograph is polished and ready for publication.
- Expertise in Photography/Art Books: Proven experience in editing photography or art books, with a deep understanding of visual storytelling.
- Strong Visual Narrative Skills: Ability to create a cohesive story through the sequencing and presentation of images.
- Publisher/Printer Relations: Experience working with publishers and printers, from project coordination to final production.
- Distribution Knowledge: Familiarity with both traditional and online distribution platforms.
- Excellent Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with the photographer, designers, and other team members.
- Meticulous Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in editing, proofing, and final review.
