Peanut Technologies is searching for a Digital Designer to help with the website segment of our business, where we create visual assets for restaurant websites. This designer would take on design projects and manage the pipeline of the project from customer discovery to project delivery.
Peanut Technologies Limited (peanuttab.com) provides point-of-sale, website, and digital signage support for restaurants and restaurant groups. Through vendor partnerships with some restaurant technology companies, we are able to serve over 80+ established restaurants annually. We would be doubling our commitment to our partners in 2025, to serve over 150+ restaurants.
This role does not require any knowledge and expertise in coding/ front-end web dev, as we do not utilize any coding in any of our design processes. We however welcome candidates with any helpful front-end background to apply.
Job Responsibilities
Client Interactions, Research & Discovery (25%)
This is a key part of our business. We have a thorough discovery process that allows us to better understand each restaurant we take on a project with, their needs, how they operate, and more. We craft our solutions around the needs of the restaurant.

• Conducting discovery calls with clients to learn more about their needs
• Facilitating review calls with clients/ restaurant owners to get their feedback on designs
• Coordinating with clients to get any additional information needed such as photos, logos, etc.
• Evaluating designs we've implemented in the past for existing clientele and evaluating opportunities to improve different designs

Design and Implementation (50%)
Once we capture the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant and gain an understanding of how they operate, we create designs for them that are in line with their branding and style.

• Strategizing content structure on restaurant websites
• Selecting the color schematics, fonts, etc. needed for client websites and graphics to be used on the website
• Building out the web pages using a custom drag-and-drop website builder developed by one of our affiliates (no coding required)

Project Management & Trainings (25%)'
We have well-documented internal processes that help us keep track of project pipelines to ensure consistent and timely delivery. We also frequently require training on our vendor and affiliate software products, as those are integral to our business model.

• Managing the pipeline of projects from project initiation to final delivery
• Creating guidelines for our photography partners who conduct photoshoots at restaurants we work with
• Documenting processes used in building out websites
• Participating in training programs to gain more depth on the suite of technologies developed by our affiliate

Preferred Skills/ Ideal Candidate
Importance: High

• Access to a serene workspace without too much background noise
• Access to a stable power source and backup power source
• Great attention to detail- we strive for perfection
• Great conversational skills and confidence holding conversations with clients
• Someone with a high visual IQ. This is key, when designing for the kinds of restaurants we work with. We need someone who understands the difference between a shade of green that aligns with a restaurant brand, and another shade that doesn't

Importance: Medium

• 2-6 years of experience in web design/ UI-UX/ graphic design/ photography/ social media, any creative or visual arts-related role
• Portfolio of work that displays great use of imagery, color, typography, and iconography
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Importance: Not super important but helpful

• Working knowledge/ experience of any industry tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Omni Graffle, Illustrator, Canva, Sketch or Figma is a plus
• Any SEO/ Copywriting experience
• Any experience with any drag-and-drop website builder
• Any agency experience
• Design school degree/ educational background/ certification in Graphic Design/Digital Design/ UI-UX (or equivalent).
• Experience in client-facing role

Compensation & Hours
Hours
Hours are 12 pm to 10 pm daily (with 2 hours of break) except on Nigerian public holidays. Occasional half-day shifts on Saturdays and public holidays will be required (we usually have 1 team member on call for half a day on Saturdays and public holidays, so you would be part of the rotation once every few weeks)
Compensation
Pay is competitive. This role is also eligible for health insurance, gym membership, and paid time off. We cover up to NGN 15,000 broadband internet fees monthly and certain other technology costs upon review and approval.
Candidates are required to have at least two wifi/ internet networks:

• A primary broadband or fiber network
• A backup network, which can include phone data plans like MTN.

Both networks must have a minimum download speed of 15 mbps.
Key details

• Location: Our company is 100% remote. You can be based anywhere in Nigeria, although Lagos is preferred because we can facilitate broadband connections in most areas of the city.
• This is a full time permanent position and not a part-time or freelance position
• Time Off:
• 2 weeks paid vacation annually (eligible after first 6 months)
• 1 week off during Christmas and New Year celebrations
