SENIOR GOVERNMENT RELATIONS ADVISORY SERVICES (LOCAL GOVERNMENTS & MDAs LIAISON) – RIVERS STATE

- Facilitate proactive engagements with government authorities in the Client's host communities' LGAs and other government stakeholders as may be required to achieve harmonious relationships and a shared sense of purpose.
- Obtain all relevant licenses and permits at the local level to ensure client operations are not disrupted due to their absence.
- Provide high-level strategic advice on cultivating and managing relationships with relevant government officials, policymakers, and influencers at the local and state levels.
- Provide advisory services to the Company on effective advocacy strategies in order to manage regulatory issues effectively, anticipate policy shifts, and maintain compliance with evolving requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping and influence analysis to identify key government decision-makers, their influencers, interests, motivations and power dynamics, and provide recommendations to management on effective engagement strategies.
- Manage relationships and engagements with regulatory authorities at the federal and state levels.
- Leverage existing networks and relationships to facilitate access to key government officials, policymakers, and influencers for the Company's management.
- Arrange for the provision of support services for government stakeholder engagement activities, such as logistics support, reports, documentation, etc.
- Strong knowledge of political and government structures in Nigeria.
- Knowledge of advocacy and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, computer, and negotiation skills
- Ability to conduct in-depth policy analysis and provide strategic advice based on evolving legislation and regulatory environments.
- Minimum of 5 years post-graduation work experience, with a minimum of 3 years spent in a stakeholder management or public relations function in a reputable organization, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Relevant professional certifications are an added advantage: Certification/membership of relevant Communications/Public Relations professional bodies such as - the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR)
- A university degree preferably in Social Sciences, Law, Management Science, or comparable disciplines
