BAT PAKISTAN IS LOOKING FOR A TRADE PLANNING MANAGER
FUNCTION: Marketing
LOCATION: Lahore, Pakistan
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES:
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
This role is responsible for leading a team in handling the operation of trade execution planning processes, supporting required trade planning scenarios as well as findings from prior cycles, and ensuring alignment of trade cycles with all high-priority end markets within an Area/ Cluster. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize the trade planning system and processes. Additionally, it leads all aspects of the efficiency of trade planning activities and execution, providing valuable insights on lessons learned and identifying areas for improvement. The role also focuses on developing and standardizing trade planning, reporting, and analysis across all priority markets within the assigned area, ensuring consistency and efficiency
Reports to: TM&D Service Delivery Lead
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Have a good understanding of End Market business priorities, trade agenda, and trade operating model for all priority markets within an area/ cluster while working from GBS Hub (Remote).
- While End Market defines campaign marketing objectives and priorities, this GBS Trade Planning Manager prepares plan alternatives and presents back to EM with resource requirements, pros, and cons.
- Once End Market selects a preferred plan or adjusts objectives/priorities for replanning, these roles need to develop a team to implement the plan through optimizing trade planning & B2B platform functionalities (like Anaplan as a Trade Planning tool and Salesforce/ RCS8, etc Trade systems) and tracking the execution against the set objectives through pre-aligned dashboards/ reports.
- Based on end market RTM model, need to handle:
- Cycle activity planning (Customer incentive, Field Force incentive, new brand launch activities, POSM planning, pricing changes, etc)
- Sales planning process at the Customer level (if the company is responsible for the distribution model)
- Directly involved in Cycle Planning process forums to ensure alignment of all trade cycle activities with all high-priority end markets within an Area/ Cluster.
- The role focuses on developing and standardizing trade planning, reporting, and analysis ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Consolidates the overall trade execution planning process across all offline/ F2F touchpoints (TMR, Sales Rep, Merchandiser, etc.), Virtual/ Tele channel (agents) as well as online channels (B2B digital sales & engagement)
- The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize the trade planning system and processes (e.g. Trade, IT teams, system vendor, etc.)

- Do you have specific experience in Trade Marketing Operations and Planning processes
- Do you have experience in collaborating cross-functionally with senior collaborators to get results
- Do you have experience demonstrating data insights and scenario planning to develop actionable business recommendations
Experience Required
- Minimum 5-8 years of working experience in the FMCG industry
- Specific experience in Trade Marketing Operation and Planning process
- Strong collaborator and cross-functional working experience with senior collaborators with strong social skills and work towards results.
- Good at bringing data-driven insights, scenario planning, and coming up with business recommendations.
- Proactive in seeking new ways/improvements in trade execution planning & trade system.
- Team management skills
- Partner concern management and effective issue resolution experience
- Fluency in English language
Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required
- Experience in Trade CRM & planning tools (Salesforce, Anaplan, etc). Anaplan certification is preferred.
- Experience in handling Trade marketing data.
- Advanced Excel & Power BI skills to drive simplification & automation of trade reporting.
- Strong Power Point skills with good storytelling ability
- Experience in data analysis, interpretation, and summary presentations.
A bachelor’s degree in a business or Marketing field
