Position Overview:
The Manager of Med-Surg RN is responsible for overseeing the operations of a 42-bed Med/Surg unit. The role includes leadership over 57 FTEs, including Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs), RNs, LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). This manager ensures high-quality care delivery, staff management, and department goals related to service, quality, and compliance. The unit has recently been remodeled and upgraded, making it a great opportunity for someone with acute care leadership experience.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Med-Surg unit.
Coordinate patient care and ensure the best outcomes through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Manage personnel, resources, and costs while maintaining quality care.
Support performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of RECENT ACUTE CARE RN leadership experience in a Supervisor or Manager role required.
Experience in adult inpatient acute care settings.
Associate's in Nursing or BSN required.
Active Registered Nurse License or Advanced Nurse Practitioner License in Florida or multistate.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Willingness to obtain ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitate certifications within 30 days of employment.
Additional Information:
This position oversees a 42-bed Med/Surg unit, with a focus on typical Med-Surg patients.
The facility is a 238-bed acute care hospital serving Bay County. It includes services such as cardiac, orthopedic, stroke, and pediatric care, with a Level III NICU and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Staffing includes new grad RNs, LPNs, and PCTs.
