Job Summary
The HR Compliance and Engagement Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all applicable labor laws, regulations, and company policies while fostering a positive and engaging work environment. This role combines expertise in compliance with a focus on employee engagement initiatives to create a workplace that supports both legal standards and employee satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization’s HR policies and practices comply with Philippine labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Policy Development: Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with local laws and company standards.
- Audit and Monitoring: Conduct regular audits of HR practices and records to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Address any discrepancies or areas of non-compliance.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies (e.g., DOLE) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Incident Management: Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues or complaints, working closely with legal counsel when necessary.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances, ensuring they are addressed fairly and in line with company policies.
- Engagement Programs: Design and implement employee engagement programs and activities that foster a positive work environment, including recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and team-building events.
- Surveys and Feedback: Conduct employee engagement surveys and analyze results to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement action plans to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Communication: Facilitate open and transparent communication between management and employees, ensuring that company policies and changes are clearly communicated and understood.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR compliance, employee relations, or a similar role, preferably in the Philippines.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Philippine labor laws, DOLE regulations, and HR best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRIS systems.
- Certifications: HR-related certifications (e.g., CHRP, PHR, etc.) are a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
- Integrity: Uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Empathy: Understand and address employee concerns with a fair and balanced approach.
- Proactive: Anticipate compliance issues and engage in continuous improvement of HR practices.
- Team Player: Collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
