JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Technologist designated as Routine Unit staff performs TB testing such as AFS, Culture, subculture, DST, and molecular diagnostic tests, weekly culture, and DST reading, receiving, and checking of isolates and specimen from RITM and Surveillance, submission of accomplishment reports and ensures implementation of ISO standards and 5S activities of the department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives and checks specimens both from RITM & Surveillance
• Informs sending facility of any deficient specimens
• Labels specimens based on the line-list
• Performs Direct Sputum Smear Microscopy for FM and ZN
• Performs MTB Rif Ultra and XDR Assay for RITM and Surveillance
• Performs Solid and Liquid Culture for RITM and Surveillance
• Performs Solid and Liquid Subculture for RITM and Surveillance
• Performs Solid and Liquid DST for RITM and Surveillance
• Performs internal QC on DSSM
• Performs weekly culture and DST reading
• Performs isolate identification of M. tubeculosis.
• Releases AFS, Mtb Rif Ultra and XDR Assay & Solid and Liquid Culture, and Solid and Liquid DST, and LPA results within turn-around time (TAT)
• Requests replenishment of laboratory supplies
• Accomplishes assigned monthly and quarterly reports
• Implements ISO 15189 and 9001 activities
• Implements 5S activities and regular weekly clean-up in the laboratory
• Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor and/or management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology; Licensed Medical Technologist
Experience:
Has previous experience working in the field of TB or HIV; with HIV Proficiency Training is an advantage
Others/Special Skills:
Requires minimal supervision and takes ownership of all responsibilities assigned. Flexible and able to work collaboratively with colleagues
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php24,000.00 - Php29,000.00 per month
