JOB SUMMARY:
The Product Development Specialist is responsible for the development of new products, product enhancements and product redesign. Evaluates the potential and practicality of products in development and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare item sales plans, budgets, and projections. Review plans with merchandising team, fulfillment operations, and vendors, and advise management as to trends, opportunities, and recommendations.
• Prepare requisitions and coordinate merchandise order requirements with purchasing. Monitor order and stock status to ensure timely delivery and receipt of merchandise.

• Provides support and assists in providing direction to the Design and Development teams on new product initiatives and changes/updates to existing products.
• Responsible for understanding the competitive environment, print/color, and product trends. Prepares and communicates color flow information for samples & production development including standards.
• Responsible for understanding the different roles of the cross-functional teams and how they relate to Merchandising (Planning, Sourcing, Technical Services, Graphics, Marketing, etc.).
• Responsible for understanding the company's strategic goals and supports the organization in achieving short- and long-term goals. Assists in ensuring that the product interpretation delivers against the Brand Strategy.
• Supports and Assists Marketing in building merchandise strategies and seasonal line plans to create commercially viable and profitable assortments that meet internal margin goals.
• · Maintains order tracking as well as P.O. sample tracking.
• · Assists in the timely communication of product updates/changes to all business units and internal product teams.
• Maintain item, inventory, and purchase data as required. Monitor available inventory position to avoid out-of-stocks and oversells. Manage open purchases and commitments.
• Identify actions required to mitigate out-of-stocks - placement/price changes, features, add-ons, shipping, etc. Work with planners, merchants, and managers to manage the stock achievement of sales and gross margin goals.
• Review open PO's, receipts, and inventory variances for exceptions and provide tracking. Collaborate with merchant and product development teams to determine current status and future disposition plans for assigned products.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly reports, and other duties as directed by planning management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship, Business, Merchandising and/or Design or equivalent years of professional
• experience.
• 3 years of related work experience in FMCG, specifically in baby products such as baby wipes, diaper,etc
• Ability to multi-task and manage many projects simultaneously.
• Ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and interface with various levels of management.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word).
