Role Description and Key Responsibilities

• Timely preparation and filing of Corporate Tax Returns: Income Tax, Value-Added Tax, Expanded Withholding Tax, Final Withholding Tax, Withholding VAT, Withholding Tax on Compensation, Fringe Benefits Tax, Documentary Stamp Tax, Related Party Transactions.

• Filing monthly and annual tax returns through BIR EFPS, ensuring funding for various taxes, including withholding taxes, expanded taxes, final taxes, and income taxes.

• Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities; Recommends and drafts policies and procedures of the company to ensure compliance with Philippine tax laws, rules, and regulations.

• Handles business-related matters with the Bureau of Internal Revenue, ensuring compliance with tax audit requirements, reporting, and securing licenses and permits renewal from Local Governments and PEZA, as applicable.

• Preparation of Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Reportorial Requirements and Compliance: Economic Zone Monthly Performance Report (EZMPR), Annual Tax Incentives Report, Annual Benefits Report, VAT Zero-Rating Certificate, Certificate of Entitlement of Tax Incentives (CETI), etc.

• Provide assistance in managing day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and government-mandated contributions, as required.

• Provide assistance in the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness, as required.

• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process related to income taxation and address any audit findings or inquiries.

• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement in financial operations.

• Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and implementing necessary adjustments.

Perform ad-hoc tasks and reports as requested by management.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any business-related course, preferably in BS Accountancy; CPA license is an advantage.

• Knowledgeable in general business taxes (EWT, FT, VAT, RCIT, MCIT, LBT, among others).

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance.

• Experience in assurance or tax team with an audit firm is an advantage.

• Working experience in BPO industry and PEZA/BOI compliance is an advantage.

• Familiar with Accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and concepts.

• Adept in MS Office Applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point).

• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).
