About the Job
The Bookkeeper will manage and oversee the company’s day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions. You will work closely with our leadership and clinical teams to maintain financial records, prepare reports, and assist in budgeting and payroll activities. This role is vital to supporting the financial health of our organization and enabling us to continue providing exceptional mental health services. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular basis.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring compliance with budget guidelines.
- Assist with payroll processing, including tracking hours, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Prepare and file state sales and service tax documents
- Remit payments for states and federal taxes
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external accountants for annual audits and tax filings.
- Ensure all financial transactions are processed promptly and in accordance with company policies.
- Identify and suggest improvements in financial processes and systems.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Provide regular reports and updates to management on financial performance and key metrics.
- Identify opportunities for process or technology improvements and provide recommended resolution to address/resolve it
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role, preferably in healthcare or mental health settings.
- Proficiency in accounting software Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with mental health industry regulations and insurance billing (a plus).
- Competitive compensation, $5.50 USD/hour
