About the Job
We’re currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our amazing team. This person will be assigned full-time to a New York based client who currently serves post-acute patients to ensure they have the appropriate medical supplies at home for a successful and complete recovery. The position includes communicating with patients over the phone, email, and text to coordinate appointments and care. This individual will also be responsible for communicating with medical practices for B2B sales. If you’re kind, compassionate and enjoy talking to people, this is the ideal position for you.
Responsibilities
- Become a subject matter expert on client’s service offering to effectively explain products and services to their patients and business partners
- Ensure each prospective and current client/patient has a positive experience
- Field incoming communications (phone, email, text) and convert 50% or more to appointments
- Respond to all client and patient inquiries within 24 hours
- Ability to prioritize patient needs based on medical urgency
- Develop and distribute end of day reports on bookings and conversions
- Able to handle a variety of tasks independently and simultaneously
- Demonstrate a pleasant disposition with each client/patient interaction
- Stay highly organized and manage voice and email inboxes effectively
- Work collaboratively on a team
- Stay flexible and supportive, helping out wherever needed, even if its not in the defined job description
- Comfortable with ‘gray area’ and ability to make the best judgment with whatever information is available.
- Complete required call sheets at the end of each day
- Take initiative to learn about the company and grow within the role
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduate
- HIPAA Certification (highly recommended)
- 1-3 year experience in USA healthcare industry required
- Experience with Medicaid preferred
- Experience with home care medical supplies and prior authorizations preferred
- Exhibit excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Expert use of Google Workspace
- Experience working in Electronic Health Records
- Experience using Slack and other business administration tools
- Ability to work at least 8 hours each day, 5 days per week, Eastern Standard Time
- A positive attitude
- A pleasant speaking voice when engaging with prospects and customers
- Experience and willingness, working in a team environment
- Excellent organization skills
- Strong work ethic
- Competitive compensation, $5.50 USD/hour
