About the Job
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets. The Data Analyst has a passion for health and data analysis and plays a key part in supporting data-driven decision-making. The analyst is responsible for providing our team the ability to quickly understand data, glean insights to help inform decision making while providing a suite of reporting and self-serve tools to answer any business questions. They are a champion of automation by building processes that ensure accurate, timely information and data accessibility. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of data analytics, including data mining, transformation, and visualization to help drive growth and innovation.
Responsibilities

• Identify, capture, organize, validate, analyze and interpret data from disparate data sources to highlight trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement in programs and operations
• Develop and maintain visually appealing data visualizations of operational reporting, ad-hoc analysis, KPI dashboards and other reports using Power BI, ensuring accuracy and relevance
• Use modeling techniques to identify and quantify booking drivers, conduct hypothesis and scenario analysis, and measure impacts
• Leverage system and data knowledge to to help find solutions to complex problems
• Assist in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic planning
• Interpret and translate business needs into actionable analytical insights and design; develop and implement innovative solutions that drive value for the business
• Develop, manage, track, and maintain data and databases
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and implement improvements
• Inform data platform architectural decisions and actively contribute to shaping Lavender’s data strategy
• Lead or contribute to the planning and execution of projects related to system implementations and data analysis
• Design and implement reliable, scalable, secure, and cost-effective reporting solutions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback, ensure alignment with business objectives, and translate them into system requirements
• Ensure alignment between business needs and technology solutions
• Effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Establish and maintain data governance practices, including data quality standards, data documentation, and data security protocols
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency by performing regular data audits and validation checks
• Maintain a proactive customer focus, high degree of confidentiality and ensure compliance with relevant US data privacy regulations and industry standards
• Maintain awareness of current trends in analytics and insights that impact both the organization and the industry

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

• Degree in computer science, economics, statistics, data science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years US-based healthcare company data analyst experience working with large, complex data sets through the entire data cycle, including data discovery, collection, cleaning, analysis, knowledge translation and reporting
• Experience working with EMR systems preferred
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Power BI, Tableau); data architecture experience preferred
• Solid understanding and experience with relational databases like SQL or Oracle
• Ability to write queries and perform data analysis
• Knowledge and certification in HIPAA, HL7 and other healthcare development and security standards
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to formulate or quickly understand business problems, find patterns and insights, identify gaps within structured and unstructured data
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present data and insights to a wide audience in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner
• Proactive and action-oriented team player, willing to collaborate with stakeholders to isolate problems and help develop solutions
• Creative problem solver with strong critical-thinking abilities, enjoys both independent and team work
