Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payable.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing of supplier invoices in the accounting system and reconcile supplier accounts every month.
- Preparation and processing of monthly Creditor’s payments.
- Attend to supplier inquiries and queries.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions.
- Timeously follow up on reconciling items to ensure that they are resolved accordingly.
- Managing GRNI balances and the aging thereof.
- Ensure that all remittances and proof of payments are distributed to suppliers and stakeholders timeously, accurately and regularly.
- Ensure professional telephone and e-mail etiquette.
- Assist in streamlining the accounts payable process.
- Ad hoc deliverables.
- Ensuring Compliance to QMS standards.
- Matric with Mathematics and/ or Bookkeeping.
- AP certificate or diploma would be advantageous.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Able to manage a high volume of accounts.
- Precise, neat, and detailed.
- Prepared to work as part of a team.
- Committed to achieving deadlines.
- Working with the Accounts Payable module in an accounting package.
- Intermediate computer literacy (Microsoft Excel and Word).
- Ability to reconcile two separate sets of data.
