Accounts Payable Clerk

Position Purpose / Objective
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payable.
Duties and Responsibilities

Processing of supplier invoices in the accounting system and reconcile supplier accounts every month.
Preparation and processing of monthly Creditor’s payments.
Attend to supplier inquiries and queries.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions.
Timeously follow up on reconciling items to ensure that they are resolved accordingly.
Managing GRNI balances and the aging thereof.
Ensure that all remittances and proof of payments are distributed to suppliers and stakeholders timeously, accurately and regularly.
Ensure professional telephone and e-mail etiquette.
Assist in streamlining the accounts payable process.
Ad hoc deliverables.
Ensuring Compliance to QMS standards.

Minimum Requirements

Matric with Mathematics and/ or Bookkeeping.
AP certificate or diploma would be advantageous.
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
Able to manage a high volume of accounts.
Precise, neat, and detailed.
Prepared to work as part of a team.
Committed to achieving deadlines.
Working with the Accounts Payable module in an accounting package.
Intermediate computer literacy (Microsoft Excel and Word).
Ability to reconcile two separate sets of data.
