Millwrights are qualified tradesmen who have acquired expertise in the compliant safe execution of electromechanical installations & repairs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting with machine availability and preventative plant maintenance.
- Spending time on Mechanical (75%) & Electrical 25% maintenance activities.
- Attending to machine moving, dismantling and installations.
- Attending to machine fault finding and repairs.
- Performing general mechanical, hydraulic & electrical installations, and repairs.
- Building, connecting, and testing of hydraulic/lubrication packs for Gyras & Apron Feeders.
- Attending to breakdowns on all on-site machines, welding machines, CNC’s etc.
- Attending to Overhead Pendent cranes and mobile crane fault finding & repairs.
- Performing general maintenance on internal combustion equipment (forklifts, gensets).
- Changing bearings as required.
- Repairing shot blast conveyor rollers.
- Assisting with general maintenance in the factory and premises as requested.
- Operating a cherry picker.
- Operating an Overhead crane.
- Operating a Forklift.
- Assisting in drafting preventative maintenance tasks.
- Health and Safety
- 5S Standard in Maintenance workshop.
- Filling in Daily QJSA.
- Ensuring compliance to QMS standards.
- N4 Certificate, Trade Test Millwright (Red Seal).
- Wireman’s license (registered) advantageous.
- At least 10 years’ post trade test experience.
- Exposure to a maintenance environment.
- Exposure at heavy machining workshop: Boring Mills, Lathes, Plasma Cutters, CNC’s, Over Head Cranes.
- Team player.
- Willingness to perform general plant and facilities maintenance tasks.
- High attention to detail with a passion for safe working practices.
- Basic.
- Willing to work shift.
