Purpose of the Job:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the company, ensuring the achievement of its vision, mission, and goals.
- Oversee all operations of the company, develop and implement effective strategies, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Manage the overall resources and make major corporate decisions and act as the main point of contact between the management, employees, and the public.
- Develop and implement the company’s strategic plan to advance its mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability, and growth.
- Provide visionary and strategic leadership to the company, ensuring alignment with the overall strategic direction.
- Setting strategic goals and ensuring the goals are measurable.
- Communicate effectively with the Director, providing timely updates on progress towards strategic goals.
- Oversee the company's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Implement operational best practices across all departments, including production, marketing, finance, human resources and rentals properties.
- Ensure compliance with all local and international regulations governing the civil & construction industry.
- Develop and manage the company’s annual budget and financial plans.
- Monitor financial performance, ensuring the company meets its financial targets.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reports to the Director.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, suppliers, and customers.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to enhance its reputation and brand.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the executive team to ensure the achievement of company goals.
- Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and commitment to quality.
- Implement effective talent management strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to the company, including market, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Leading the ideation, planning, and implementation of new and long-term business strategies.
- Managing the company’s assets and liabilities.
- Serving as the figurative head of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of senior management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the civil & construction industry.
- Advance knowledge of South Africa taxation law and SARS (tax returns including VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, Income Tax, STC and Provisional Tax).
- Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic plans and achieving business objectives.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and financial performance.
- In-depth knowledge of the civil & construction industry, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
