We are currently accepting applications for the following position located in the Witbank, Mpumalanga area.

The successful candidate will be responsible to assist the safe and cost-effective extraction of coal resources and reserves by generating, processing, interpreting and reporting of geological information using Geological Models and relevant software in a format that can be utilised for optimal mine planning and eventual economic extraction.
Key Responsibilities

• Borehole logging, planning and updating of mine plans.
• Ensuring quality through efficient Grade Control Practice (i.e. Horizon control, yield management & contamination).
• Mapping of geological features.
• Assisting and coaching production personnel responsible for mining operations (i.e. ensuring that the grade profile and monthly planned/forecast yields are achieved).
• Managing geological databases.
• Assisting with Coal Quality simulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Geology.
• Driver’s license (Code EB/08).

Minimum Experience:

• Completed Graduate Development Programme or minimum 2 years’ relevant experience.
