We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of excellence in healthcare administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Medical Coding Expertise:

• Utilize deep understanding of tariff coding, ICD-10 coding, BHF (Board of Healthcare Funders), and South African tariff codes.
• Ensure accurate coding across multiple medical specialities to maximize reimbursement and minimize claim denials.

- Medical Aid Submissions:

• Manage end-to-end medical aid submissions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
• Liaise with medical aid schemes to resolve submission issues and expedite claim processing.

- Credit Control and Collections:

• Oversee credit control functions, including patient billing and debt collection.
• Implement strategies to reduce outstanding debts and improve cash flow.

- Reporting and Analytics:

• Generate detailed financial and operational reports for internal review and decision-making.
• Analyse billing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

- Compliance and Regulations:

• Stay updated on healthcare regulations, including BHF and HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) guidelines.
• Ensure all billing activities adhere to legal and ethical standards.

- Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal teams, healthcare providers, and external stakeholders to streamline billing processes.
• Provide training and support to clinical staff on billing procedures and systems.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in medical billing across multiple specialities.
• Previous experience working in a medical billing bureau is highly desirable.

- Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding standards, including ICD-10 and tariff codes.

- Language Proficiency:

• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.

Salary and Benefits:
- Compensation:

• Competitive salary ranging from R25,000 to R35,000 CTC per month.
