POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP [PDRF] 2024
FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES & HUMANITIES

A full-time postdoctoral position is available in the Department of English Studies and Comparative Literature, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, at the University of Fort Hare (UFH), Alice Campus, South Africa. The duration of the fellowship is 12 months but renewable depending on the performance of the post-doctoral fellow as prescribed by the research office of the UFH. The fellow should be able to do research involving Critical Discourse Analysis; Language practices in the Global South; Critical discourses relating to politics, xenophobia, and the land question in Southern Africa

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Applicant must have completed doctoral degree within the last five years.
Must have graduated with a Ph D degree in Applied English Linguistics/ English Studies.
Preference is given to women, particularly South African Citizens and SA permanent residents.
Young and emerging scholar, and
Evidence of publications in DHET accredited journals (minimum of 2 units) will be an added advantage).

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

Undertake independent research and participate in the academic activities of the Department of English Studies and Comparative Literature.
Publish a minimum of 2 Units per annum in DHET accredited journals, and
Contribute to the research productivity of postgraduate students as well as the Department of English Studies and Comparative Literature.

VALUE OF THE FELLOWSHIP:
R300, 000 annual fellowship.
