Introduction
SVA International Architects & Urban Designers are a subsidiary of the GIBB Group of Companies.
The architectural team at SVA International is looking for talented and ambitious new staff with proven design and technical abilities and a commitment to excellence. We currently have a vacancy available for a Professional Senior Architectural Technologist with a proven history of delivering projects in the Healthcare space, in our Gauteng office, and would consider candidates with the following skill set:
Core Purpose
Engaging in all stages of the architectural process and working within a team structure in the SVA Gauteng office as a Professional Senior Architectural Technologist. Specific focus will be on the design development, construction documentation and on-site delivery of complex projects.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

Develop and manage design, development, and delivery of projects;
Produce design documentation aligned to the design brief;
Assist management with the planning and coordination of the project team and program;
The ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team;
Utilizing REVIT & REVIT ACC and other software and equipment to prepare project designs, presentations and construction documentation;
Works in tandem with highly collaborative multi-discipline design teams;
Engage proactively in the design and production discourse and processes across the SVA studios;
Ability to work independently, and to prescribed standards and deadlines;
Contribute to the office culture and the success of the SVA brand.

Job Requirements
Qualifications

Minimum of a B. Tech / N.H.Dip Architectural Technology qualification
Valid Professional Registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP)
Supplementary Healthcare Planning courses, training, or qualifications are essential.

Experience and Skills

Minimum of fifteen years post SACAP Professional Certification experience.
Experience in large scale (minimum 150 bed / R 500 million,) healthcare projects in South Africa and throughout Africa.
Proven track record of delivering projects across Africa.
Experience in commercial, residential, healthcare, retail, industrial and governmental projects.
Primary software skills should include Revit, and Microsoft Office, including MS Project.
Proficiency in preparing and managing in-house project teams including resource planning, project documentation and delivery programs.
Demonstrable experience in professional consulting team management and coordination.
Experience in Principal Agent, project partner / lead architect role and construction contract documentation, administration and delivery.
Experience in development management, tenant lease agreements and property development transactions will be beneficial.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to business development and securing new clients;
Ability to multitask and prioritise daily workloads with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and concurrently;
Outstanding organisational and time management skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and an availability to travel as and when required;
Valid Code B Drivers License and own car essential;
Advanced Autodesk Revit skill-set;
Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills;
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and technical skills;
Large-scale commercial architecture, healthcare, industrial and retail experience is essential;
Strong design development and construction detailing capability;
Ability to effectively manage contractors, oversee construction and implement projects on time and within budget;
Ability to function in a team, under pressure and redirect focus when necessary;
Ambition to work on a wide variety of architecture projects at various scales;
A self-starter, who is driven to gain experience and develop skills, while adding value;
Aptitude to learn through experience and from others;
Previous experience in management roles will be advantageous.
