Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Theatrical Distribution Manager to oversee the distribution of our films to cinemas in South, West and East Africa. The ideal candidate will have a background in film distribution, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships with exhibitors and stakeholders in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
- Distribution Strategy:
- Develop and implement distribution strategies for theatrical releases, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
- Analyse market trends and audience demographics to inform distribution decisions.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cinema chains, independent cinemas, and other distribution partners.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for theatrical engagements, including contracts and revenue sharing.
- Scheduling and Logistics:
- Oversee the scheduling of film releases, ensuring timely delivery of marketing materials and prints to cinemas.
- Coordinate logistics for premieres, special screenings, and promotional events.
- Marketing Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies that enhance theatrical releases.
- Provide input on marketing campaigns, ensuring they resonate with target audiences.
- Performance Analysis:
- Monitor box office performance and analyse data to assess the success of distribution strategies.
- Prepare reports on performance metrics and provide recommendations for future releases.
- Budget Management:
- Manage budgets related to theatrical distribution, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Track expenses and optimize spending to maximize profitability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, finance, and sales teams to ensure seamless execution of distribution plans.
- Participate in project meetings to provide financial insights and strategic input.
- Industry Trends:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in theatrical distribution.
- Attend industry events and film festivals to network and represent the company.
- A relevant degree in either Film Studies, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in theatrical distribution or a similar role within the film industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with experience using distribution software and tools.
- Passion for film and a deep understanding of the theatrical landscape.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized, with excellent project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
