Howden South Africa is looking for Trainee Planner (Fixed Term Contract) to be responsible for planning and tracking of projects on various customers site and arranging balancing and alignment jobs.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

• Initialise assignments: (interpret scopes, clarify issues). Design bar charts to meet specifications and approval of all parties concerned.

• Tracking of progress: Conduct visual progress inspections to verify progress as reported by site staff; discuss with site staff problems, potential problems, risks, trends and plan around obstacles. Escalate issues where applicable.

• Accordingly update bar charts. Discuss changes, progress and obstacles with clients and contractors. Update / inform / give feedback. Escalate issues where applicable. Accordingly update charts. all are kept informed of their obligations, urgencies, major incidents, obstacles and progress, etc.)

• Analyse progress, obstacles, changes, risks, trends etc. - to the effect that corrective action can be made pro-actively (where applicable) and provide feedback to management.

• On request, arrange, plan alignment and balancing assignments (liaise with own staff and contractors, schedule work, assignment administration / record keeping, etc.).

• At all times adhere to procedures, instructions, quality, safety standards and certification requirements

• SOX Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls

Your Education Should Be…

• Grade 12

• Project Management

• Mechanical Engineering qualification

• Knowledge of MS Project & Primavera

• Knowledge of Howden’s products and processes

• Computer Literate
