Our client is an international commodity trading company based in the German-speaking part of Switzerland.
Job Description
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Trading team to originate, structure, and execute transactions, including M&As, divestments, loans/prepayments, and structured financing.
- Conduct financial analyses of potential investment opportunities in the metals division, focusing on prepayments to mining companies, equity and debt investments, and other financing options in the iron ore and steel sectors.
- Develop marketing and execution materials for various transactions.
- Create financial models and perform detailed valuation analyses.
- Work closely with senior team members and counterparties to execute transactions and manage associated risks.
- Oversee and coordinate the contributions of technical team members to advance the execution process.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including lawyers and accountants, throughout transactions.
- Assist in client negotiations, Q&A processes, and management interviews.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- 2-6 years of experience in an investment banking front office role, preferably in mining or natural resources, or in equity research or project finance focused on metals and mining.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, particularly in Excel.
- Familiarity with transaction cycles and execution-oriented processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior professionals and stakeholders.
- Swiss work permit or citizenship from CH/EU preferred.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Power Point.
- Collaborative with a positive and independent work attitude.
- Willingness to travel globally on short notice.
- Efficient and well-organized.
- Comfortable working with diverse, multicultural teams.
