Facilities Specialist

We are searching for an experienced Facilities Specialist at our MSC Geneva facility.

THE POSITION
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of multiple buildings. They handle a wide range of improvement, maintenance, and repair tasks autonomously or in collaboration with other technicians. Versatile and self-reliant, they must be able to identify technical issues, respond quickly, and perform high-quality minor repairs.
YOUR IMPACT
General Objectives:

• Maintain buildings and their installations in good working order and safety.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to any type of repair or maintenance.
• Ensure occupant satisfaction through preventive maintenance and prompt repairs.

Repair and Maintenance Work:

• Perform minor electrical system interventions (e.g., relamping).
• Handle IT cabling for workstations in various buildings.
• Perform patching in IT racks.
• Conduct simple plumbing tasks (e.g., unclogging, replacing seals, repairing leaks).
• Carry out carpentry repairs (e.g., locksmithing, adjusting doors and windows, installing shelves).
• Replace or repair defective elements (e.g., handles, hinges, baseboards).

Renovation and Improvement Work:

• Perform painting, plastering, and tiling work for touch-ups or minor renovations.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment (e.g., furniture, IT equipment).
• Ensure the arrangement of interior spaces according to needs.

Equipment and Systems Maintenance:

• Maintain and clean tools and equipment used.
• Regularly check and test equipment to ensure proper functioning (e.g., sprinklers, generators, lifts).
• Ensure installations comply with safety standards.

Preventive Maintenance:

• Identify potential malfunction risks and perform necessary preventive work.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and their infrastructures (e.g., plumbing, electricity, HVAC).

Equipment Monitoring and Management:

• Monitor the stock levels of spare parts, materials, and consumables.
• Propose improvements for optimizing equipment and resource management.

Intervention Request Management:

• Respond to intervention requests from occupants promptly.
• Prioritize tasks based on urgency and availability.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all interventions comply with safety standards.
• Participate in the implementation and adherence to safety protocols during interventions.

Coordination with External Providers:

• Assist external companies with more complex work.
• Monitor the quality of supplier services and ensure compliance with contracts and deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
YOUR BACKGROUND

• Training in technical fields / Facility Management.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in general/technical building maintenance, hotel maintenance, or a similar field.
• Versatility in plumbing, electricity, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
• Good ability to diagnose and repair common breakdowns.
• Rigor, autonomy, organization, and team spirit.
• Observational skills and the ability to solve problems quickly.
• Good communication with occupants and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• English is an asset.
• Use of manual and electric tools and basic materials for plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
• Adherence to safety standards related to interventions (e.g., ISO, electrical, working at heights, fire safety).
• Ensure work complies with local and national building management regulations.

Working Conditions:

• Work indoors or outdoors, as needed.

• Regular weekday hours, with availability on weekends and evenings as required by the service.

CONTRACT DETAILS

• Based in Geneva.
• Full-time.
• Permanent Role.
• Starting ASAP.
• Eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizen, or existing Swiss work permit).
